Heating Maintenance: Signs You Need a Heater Tune-up

Funny Smells

Though it’s normal for the dust to burn off in your air ducts, if the smell doesn’t dissipate after a few hours, this could mean a broken electrical or mechanical part within the unit.

Odd Noises

If your system is making odd noises, it could signify that more problems are soon to follow. Worn down or loosened parts are an easy fix, but it’s better to make them sooner rather than later.

Cold Spots

If the heat is on and you notice cold spots still around your home, your system isn’t heating efficiently. This can lead to higher energy bills. Rooms, where it’s too warm as opposed to others, could be a sign your system needs some servicing.

What Our Team Checks For

It might be a little difficult to let others fix and maintain your heating system if you’re a handyman yourself, but it’s best to leave this part of upkeep to the professionals! Before winter hits, we will be sure to:
1. Switch out your filter
If your filter is dirty, it will negatively impact the overall air quality of your home.

2. Remove debris from your burners
It’s easy for dirt and dust to accumulate during the summer months, so we recommend leaving this part to us.

3. Check Core Functions are Working Properly
When you schedule an inspection with our team of professionals, we will be sure to oil the blower for you if you have an older system, check on your thermostat and functionality, as well as ensure that vents aren’t blocked.

While some of these maintenance tasks might be simple enough for you to check on your own, we recommend that you call us out to double-check or assist in any areas you aren’t familiar with. We want to make sure your system goes without damage and that you don’t hurt yourself in the process!
